Autodesk StitcherUnlimited isn’t quite an image editing software program. So, comparing it to other feature-rich programs might seem patently unfair, cruel even. Nevertheless, this review will serve not so much to limn what Autodesk Sticher Limited doesn’t have or offer (though the review will certainly cover that as well), but, to the contrary, what it does.
Autodesk Stitcher Unlimited functions solely to transform existing photographs and images into 360-degree panoramas. Yes, actual panoramas. Users can upload 2-D photos and shape them into 3-D panoramas, both partial and spherical.
Strengths
Weaknesses
Autodesk Stitcher Unlimited’s overall value is hard to assess. With virtually no real editing and design features, it almost falls into gimmick and novelty territory. Yet, what it does it does very well. Panoramas and stitched images can be very useful for graphic design purposes.
So, while it probably won’t become a bread-and-butter utility for everyday users, in the hands of a graphic designer, Autodesk Stitcher Limited could be quite a tool to have on hand.
Autodesk Stitcher Unlimited isn’t so much an image editing software program, but an image manipulation software program. You won’t find tools and features to repair, restore or even create photos. Instead, what you find in Autodesk Stitcher Limited is a handful of tools to precisely stretch, bend, wrap, warp and fold images together to form full and partial panoramas as well as other stitched images. And, despite the interface lacking in polish, the finished images themselves are consistently professional.
Though you won’t find any of the standard paint-like image design tools common in products like Adobe Photoshop and Corel Paint Shop Photo Pro X2, there is still some layering functionality available in Autodesk Stitcher Unlimited. This functionality largely comes in the form of the photo stitching, which can be done manually or automatically using the photo stitching engine.
